Community Kindness: Providence Methodist Church Raises £300 for The Welcome Centre
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Providence Methodist Church’s Coffee, Cake & Chat group for their generous donation of £300 in support of The Welcome Centre.
This thoughtful group was formed in 2021, following the Covid-19 pandemic, as a way to combat isolation and bring people back together. Meeting every Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:30pm, the group offers a welcoming space where attendees can enjoy tea, coffee, homemade cakes, and most importantly one another’s company.
With 20 to 25 regular attendees, the group has grown into a supportive community. While refreshments are offered freely, many participants have chosen to give donations as a way to give back. These contributions have helped support the church’s ongoing costs and, in a wonderful gesture of generosity, have also been shared with local charities, including The Welcome Centre.
We are incredibly grateful for their support. This donation will help us continue to provide vital services to individuals and families across Huddersfield facing food poverty and financial crisis.
Thank you to everyone involved in the Coffee, Cake & Chat group — your kindness is making a real difference.
