Lovely article from Kirklees Council

 'Welcome' day of volunteering"

As a group of friends we recently volunteered for the day at The Welcome Centre food bank warehouse, where volunteers create food and welfare packages for distribution to those most in need of support."With guidance from the professionals we were given instructions to create food packs for local families; some with children, some with pets, some with special dietary requirements, some without cooking facilities, all in need. The food should last around a week and will be much appreciated by recipients.

"We met some dedicated volunteers on the day who were generous with their time and we left with a greater appreciation of the support they offer. It was touching to see how the kindness of strangers, through donations or volunteering, can help make a real difference to the lives of others.
