Supporting Local People in Crisis: How Our Grant Scheme Is Making a Difference
When someone is already struggling to afford food, an unexpected expense like a broken washing machine, or the need to carpet a new home to make it safe for children can feel completely out of reach. For many people we support, these everyday essentials can seem like unattainable luxuries.
At The Welcome Centre, we believe no one should have to live without the basic items that make a home safe, comfortable, and functional. That’s why we’re proud to run a grant scheme that helps people in hardship access the essentials they need.
Thanks to our partnership with Glasspool, a national charity providing small grants to individuals in need, we’ve been able to secure funding for vital household items such as washing machines, fridges, beds, and carpets. This partnership has enabled us to support thousands of people across Huddersfield and the surrounding areas, helping them rebuild stability and dignity in their daily lives.
