COWAP Demonstrates Local Commitment with £2,000 Donation to The Welcome Centre

Greater Manchester-based COWAP recently expanded into Ravensthorpe and has strengthened its ties with the Huddersfield community through a generous contribution.

Established in 2000, COWAP has gained a strong reputation for reliability, expertise and customer commitment. They are proud to be industry leaders and specialists within the construction sector and are focused on continuous improvement with their company vision to establish new, groundbreaking industry standards for health and safety, innovation and customer service.

The Welcome Centre, the UK’s largest independent food bank has been running for more than 25 years and supports local people in crisis with basic essentials such as food, toiletries and bedding. In recent years, they have established an in-house advice, guidance and support service offering clients access to grants, 1-2-1 support sessions and signposting. In the past 12 months, The Welcome Centre has provided a record-breaking 400,000 meals worth of food to local families and individuals in crisis. They have supported 6,500 with 2,600 of those being children under 16 years old.

COWAP have a strong community focus and wants to demonstrate that locally as they expand into Kirklees. With demand for the food bank rising rapidly this generous donation will help with running costs and essential stock for client food packs.

Kevin Cowap, Operations Director at COWAP said:

We have recently moved into the Huddersfield area and are busy developing our new site in Ravensthorpe. We want to give back to the local community and help families in need. We were overwhelmed by the wonderful work undertaken by The Welcome Centre and are very proud to support them and the work they do for people in crisis.

Emma Greenough, Fundraising Manager at The Welcome Centre said:

Both of our organisations focus on continuous improvements. Here at The Welcome Centre, we want our food bank to be accessible, and forward-thinking with clients always at the forefront of our decision-making.  We are delighted that COWAP chose us as their local charity partner, at a time when demand is at an all-time high. Their generous donation of £2,000 will help us to provide food and advice to thousands of people in the next 12 months and we hope more charity-minded businesses like COWAP show their support in the months to come.
