What’s it really like to volunteer? | The Welcome Centre

Volunteering Kirklees have spoken to three local volunteers about their experiences. Here's Graham's story about working with The Welcome Centre.

WHO?: Graham is a Warehouse Volunteer at The Welcome Centre Food Bank in Huddersfield

WHAT?: He drives the van to collect donations and sorts them in the warehouse.

WHEN?: Every Monday morning

WHY?: He was recently retired and new to the area, and wanted to give something to a charity that wasn’t money.

HOW HAS VOLUNTEERING KIRKLEES HELPED?: Graham looked for an opportunity on the Volunteering Kirklees website, applied and was invited for a chat and a tour.

Being new to the area, I’ve been able to make new friends.
