Helping you make your food budget go further
We understand that the cost of food and everyday essentials can put real pressure on household budgets. With the rising cost of living, many people are finding that their money simply doesn’t go as far as it used to.
For some households, a weekly food shop can be a difficult balancing act. You may be working, receiving benefits, managing a family or living on a fixed income, but still finding it challenging to afford everything you need.
You don’t have to be in crisis to need a little extra help.
We believe everyone should be able to access good-quality, affordable food and essential items without feeling embarrassed or judged. That’s why the Welcome Centre is committed to providing practical, local support for people in our rural community.
Introducing the Welcome Centre Pantry
As part of our commitment to making food more affordable, we’re delighted to offer the Welcome Centre Pantry.
Our pantry provides access to a range of low-cost food and essential household items, helping local people reduce their weekly shopping costs and make their household budgets stretch further.
The pantry is designed for people who may be struggling with the rising cost of living but aren’t necessarily at the point of needing a crisis food bank.
It’s a welcoming, community-based service for people living in HD8 and the surrounding areas.
Whether you’re looking to save a little on your weekly shop, finding it harder to afford essentials, or simply need some extra support at the moment, you’re welcome to come along.
When is the pantry open?
Monday – 10am–12pm
Wednesday – 10am–12pm
Friday – 10am–12pm
Advice Drop-In
Our Wednesday pantry session also includes an Advice Drop-In, providing an opportunity to talk to someone about any concerns or challenges you may be facing.
Whether you need practical advice, guidance about other local services, or simply want to talk things through, our friendly team is here to help.
Asking for support isn’t something to be ashamed of. Times can be difficult for all sorts of reasons, and sometimes a little extra help can make a big difference.
The Welcome Centre Pantry is here to provide affordable food, practical support and a friendly face when you need it.
If you live in HD8 or the surrounding rural areas, we’d love to welcome you.
Affordable food. Local support. No judgement.
