The Huddersfield Town Foundation is HTAFC’s official charity and aims to tackle the consequences of inequality by working to provide positive opportunities and support to the community of Kirklees.
It carries out work under four main impact areas: Learning & Education, Health & Healthy Behaviours, Safe Spaces and Places and Movement & Activity, with a variety of initiatives targeting a breadth of individuals.
The Foundation is arguably most well-known for its ‘Early Kick-off’ Breakfast Clubs, which provide free breakfasts to children at 41 local schools. Other projects include Premier League Primary Stars, through which coaches provide support and interventions on topics such as Maths, English and PE within primary schools, and Sporting Memories, which provides the older generation or isolated individuals a chance to reminisce and make new friends.
The Foundation Team support The Welcome Centre through the Fans For Foodbanks scheme, where bins are located outside the John Smith’s Stadium at every home fixture for supporters to donate goods.
They have also previously provided funding to The Welcome Centre as raised through the Big Sleep Out event, where fans and supporters are encouraged to spend the night in The John Smith’s Stadium, raising awareness for organisations tackling homelessness and the related consequences.
