Come and join the party to celebrate Honley Samba Band's 5th Anniversary in aid of The Welcome Centre.
To celebrate Honley Samba Band's 5th anniversary they are joining a host of other music talent to party the night away and raise money for a much needed cause.
The party takes place at Small Seeds on New Street Huddersfield on Saturday 2nd February.
Doors open at 8pm and the party goes on till late.
You'll be treated to a host of music from around the world including
- Chicken Scratch DJs playing vinyl selections of World Beats.
- Support from an 11-piece Salsa Band led by the talented Dr Peter Birkby.
- Honley Samba Band brings you a fusion of traditional Brazilian rhythms with modern beats, led by community percussionist Katie Mallard.
Surprise special guests.
Not only will the event get you moving to the beat, but all proceeds from the "Pay as you feel" door entry will go to The Welcome Centre. The intimate setting will play host to fantastic music, and as dry January will be over you can treat yourself to cocktails and pizzas from Bar Maroc upstairs.
The Welcome Centre has seen unprecedented growth in demand over the last 12 months, with a 37% increase in clients needing support.
After the Christmas period which is busy for both donations and need, we see a huge drop in support for our charity. Events like this, which are not only fun and original, raise funds and awareness for our service that operates all year long. If demand continues to increase in the rate that it has recently, we will need all the support we can just to meet demand.
